Multisig spreads risk and spreads confusion. When one signer is on a long flight or hospital stay, the others need a paper map of roles—not access to chat logs buried in a phone.
Coordinator register sections
Our multisig format includes:
- Signer roster with contact cadence (not private keys)
- Quorum reminder in plain language (“3 of 5 required for treasury move”)
- Hardware inventory by signer initials
- Rehearsal log dated after each test transaction
Absence protocol page
Clients add a page describing what remaining signers should do if one party is unreachable for more than X days. That number is yours to set; we only provide the heading and example wording.
Limitation
The register cannot sign transactions. It tells humans which device to pick up and whom to call. Software remains authoritative for execution.
Families setting up linked pair registers often combine this format with an annual review so roster pages stay current when phone numbers change.
